For back-to-back weeks, "Thursday Night Football" is treating fans to a matchup of AFC teams. The Week 10 matchup is similar to that of Week 9, as the two teams playing appear to be heading in opposite directions.

The visiting squad for the Week 10 "Thursday Night Football" game is on a crash course with a playoff berth. They are currently leading the AFC North and have posted a 6-2 record at this early stage in the season. They have survived a few late-game scares, including three overtime games and a close clash with the Lions, but behind Lamar Jackson, they figure to be one of the top teams in the parity-filled AFC.

Their opponent isn't exactly in a similar situation. The Dolphins have struggled immensely this season and have just two wins. They beat the Patriots by a single point in Week 1, lost seven straight games and proceeded to beat the one-win Texans last week to earn their second victory.

Brian Flores' squad nearly made the playoffs last season, but their roster has too many holes right now to make a run unless the Bills and Patriots fall off considerably. That said, anything is possible on a short week, so perhaps they could pose a stronger-than-expected challenge for the Ravens. After all, the NFL has been quite unpredictable this season.

Below is everything to know about Thursday night's matchup, plus everything you need to know to watch the first Week 10 game of the 2021 NFL season.

Who plays on 'Thursday Night Football' tonight?

  • Matchup: Ravens at Dolphins
  • Location: Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla.

The Ravens (6-2) are traveling to Miami to face the Dolphins (2-7) on "Thursday Night Football" in Week 10. Baltimore is coming off a 34-31 overtime victory, its third overtime game in eight regular-season games, and will look to earn a win to tie the Titans for the best record in the AFC.

Baltimore may be playing on a short week, but the Ravens just had their bye in Week 8. As such, they'll be a bit fresher than teams tend to be on a short week even despite their overtime game.

The Colts actually were in a similar spot to the Ravens last week, having come off a short week after playing an overtime game. They were able to dominate the Jets for most of the evening in a 15-point win, so that should bode well for the Ravens.

So too should their 8-1 record against the Dolphins in their last nine meetings. Miami is ill-equipped to handle their strong running game, so as long as they're healthy, the Ravens should stand a good chance of winning.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins are coming off just their second victory of the season. They beat the Texans 27-19 in Week 9 and will look to earn their second upset win of the season.

The Dolphins were without Tua Tagovailoa last week, as he has a small fracture in the middle finger on his left hand. That could make him questionable for this one. Jacoby Brissett held up well in place of him against the Texans. It's hard to imagine him doing the same thing against the Ravens.

NFL Week 10 schedule

The Ravens vs. Dolphins game will be the first matchup of Week 10, as the two AFC teams will face off on "Thursday Night Football." Miami is 1-8 in its last nine games against Baltimore with its last win coming in December of 2015.

The other prime-time games this week look like solid divisional matchups. The Chiefs are facing the Raiders on "Sunday Night Football" in a battle that the Chiefs desperately need to win if they want to rise to the top of the AFC West logjam. The Raiders, meanwhile, have cut yet another former first-round pick, Damon Arnette, after some serious off-the-field concerns.

The Rams and 49ers will be the final prime-time matchup of the week on "Monday Night Football." Both teams are coming off disappointing blowout losses at the hands of the Titans and Cardinals respectively, but Matthew Stafford and Sean McVay have to bounce back in particular after a woeful offensive outing against Tennessee.

Elsewhere, the Saints will get a crack at the Titans in an intriguing interconference matchup while the Browns and Patriots will square off in a battle between two of the AFC's Wild Card contenders. The late slate will feature the Packers vs. Seahawks game, as both Aaron Rodgers (COVID) and Russell Wilson (finger) will look to return to action for that contest.
